Two seasons in one display
This post is not about road-trip dining and certainly not about good, locally produced food. And it’s not about any multi-day holiday such as Christmas, Easter or Thanksgiving.
No, my favourite celebrated day of the year is Halloween. It’s not that I decorate the yard or concoct a clever costume. And, as a diabetic, it’s certainly not that I load up on second-rate chocolate.

Anyone want my leftovers?
What makes Halloween my favourite day is the kids—the toddlers to teens, of every ethnicity imaginable, that arrive on my doorstep for a brief two evening hours. They’re so polite, they’re so friendly, they’re so grateful, they’re so intelligent.
In a world gone mad, they’re a tangible reminder that many, many young people are what’s right with the world.
Now, does anyone want my leftover KitKats?
